Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger Review

Okay, I have to admit J.T. is a genius for writing this book. That plot twist threw me for a loop. I thought I had the mystery solved. I was even smug about it, only to find out I was dead wrong. Lol. Get it? Dead wrong! Gosh, if you haven’t read the story, you won’t find the joke. Please do read it, so you can share in my not-so-funny humor.

Anyways, Kayla a distraught widow---to a certain extent---had house issues. Yeah, she lived in one of those fixer-uppers. The grand kind. With a leaking roof in the rainy season---because for some reason rain was always falling, she thought the best solution was to get help. That was where Aiden came into the mix. A sexy all-rounder. Things escalated from there.

Oh, Aiden. Aden. Aiden. Though I’m not into men with facial hair, I would be the guy’s sex slave. Like a literal slave. Heck, he could tell me to call him master any time. Not only was this guy dominant but sweet. A real book boyfriend. I had to add him to my list because he earned his spot there. J.T. must have searched the heavens and earth to find a model that reflects the character because the book cover is everything imagined in the head. I loved it.

Even so, I disliked Kayla. I thought she was a judgmental jerk but kept reading because I wanted to know if my assumptions were true. Guess what? They weren’t! And that’s why Pen Pal gets a five star from me. The twist was so marvelous that it bumped up two more stars for me. Because going through the book, I wasn’t all that impressed. Three stars remained in my head. Then the twist happened, and I got excited, and the rest is history.

I am not a big fan of endearing pet names, so the minute I noticed one, it turned me off. Either way, it was original. I liked that. And more so because Aiden used it. The spice was great. I loved that Kayla wasn’t a helpless virgin and she had previous experiences but now realized she liked other things. Kinky things. I’m winking at this point.

So, yes, this book is worth the read. Did it have romance? Aiden was a sweetheart. The mystery was on point. Gosh, that plot twist. You’d love it. It kind of has a horror vibe but not too much to be extremely spooky. Anyone could read this. Don't just take my word for it. Go ahead, get a copy, and find out what the fuss is about.

Coming Up for Air Review

Book Source: Kindle  Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Novel Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: 🌶/5 Coming Up for Air by Amanda Meuwissen Review  I stumbled on this story and noticed the merman on the book cover. I didn't even think much into it---not even to read the synopsis---why I took such a chance was beyond me---and got the book. My childhood obsession with merfolks--not Ariel, I hated her---followed me into adulthood. Therefore, anything merfolk and I'm going to read it. This book fell into that category. And, I was glad I decided to read this book.   It all began when Leigh was dumped into the river by the mobster brothers, whom he stole from to appease the mafia he worked for. On the verge of drowning, he was kissed by an angel. Later he woke ashore without the shackles that the gangsters had tied around his ankle. Thinking nothing of it, Leigh went home, trying to come up with a plan to get himself out of the bind he ...

Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review

Book Source: Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Series Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review I was in the mood for an omegaverse when I stumbled on Ugly. My God was I not disappointed in my spontaneous decision. Ugly was that MM Romance I never knew I had to read. Like Burke, you could take care of me any day. Any day.  Emerson, a homeless omega, had found solitude in the bar of an older Alpha for the past three months. He never had a problem with the routine exchange of a few meals for a petty job here and there around the bar with the large alpha. Burke was caring and made him feel safe.  Burke could care less about the chores he asked the omega to do. It was a simple trade. Plus, Emerson never caused problems and often left after. Until one winter night. Three days before his heat cycle started, Emerson ended up in Burke's bar begging him to be allowed to stay until his cycle was over. The...

Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review

Book Source: Book Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: MM Standalone Series  Starred Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Spice Rating: 🌶🌶/5 Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review The electricity went out in my area and while bored I read book one, Bat Boy in this Easton U Pirates series, in one sitting. I'm a sucker for character arcs, so when I noticed Mason and Domonic in Bat Boy, I immediately shipped them. It thrilled me to know my intuitions were good and the duo was going to be a couple. So, I continued the trend and stayed up until the blink of dawn to read book two. Not a healthy idea since I had stuff to do in the day, but I wouldn't be a bookaholic if I never did an all-nighter for the sake of reading.  Back to the review.  Mason was the grumpy asshole while Domonic was the caring type. He wasn't overly adorable which fit his character and how the whole plot tied to Mason. I adored the banter between the two. Dominic knew how to handle Mason. H...
