In a Series: Yes
Genre: MM Romance
Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since I finished Whit and Sem, I decided to complete the series. The first two books were fabulous, so it made sense to carry on the baton. Emery had profanity, masturbation, sex scenes, mentions of substance abuse, mentions of abusive childhood, stepsibling relationship, and mentions of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  If you are okay with all this, we should get the review going.

Emery (Unexpected, #3) Review

Emery, Unexpected series book three written by Cora Rose was just as fabulous as Whit and Sem. Emery’s father married August’s mother and they became stepbrothers. A well put together young man verses a victim of child abuse. Oh, they made the perfect couple. Yep. August disliked how aloof and unbothered his stepbrother was. Emery thought of August as a perfect gift he wanted to wreck. They kept their thoughts to themselves until they got stuck in the snow on their way to spend time with their parents. One request and unexpected payment led to so much more. Not just sexually but emotional connections the two never thought they could share.

I have to admit. Emery became my favorite book boyfriend from Sem and Whit. He was the troubled yet most opened person that drew me to him. I loved his way of thinking and how he went about doing things. He brought me to tears and laughter within a wink of a moment. Emery was the perfect boyfriend anyone would wish for. Once we could get past all his other monsters. He was the guy I couldn’t help but love and want to protect. The perfectly imperfect sem.

Emery and August were one roller coaster ride. And I went along for the ride. The ending brought me more pleasure than any of the other stories. I loved how different it was from all the other step sibling romances out there. Cora Rose outdid herself with this one. I rated Emery five stars out of five stars. Emery was too crazy of a character for me not to give it all five stars.

I recommend Emery to all those victims who convince themselves they can’t be happy. To those people who refrain from going after what they want because they believe something, or someone is above them. Why should that ever stop you? It’s either a yes or a no. You can never tell unless you find out. You hear the answer without assuming. Who knows? One simple thing done from a small whiff of courage can change your life for the better.

Luke is next. See you there!

Coming Up for Air Review

Book Source: Kindle  Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Novel Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: ๐ŸŒถ/5 Coming Up for Air by Amanda Meuwissen Review  I stumbled on this story and noticed the merman on the book cover. I didn't even think much into it---not even to read the synopsis---why I took such a chance was beyond me---and got the book. My childhood obsession with merfolks--not Ariel, I hated her---followed me into adulthood. Therefore, anything merfolk and I'm going to read it. This book fell into that category. And, I was glad I decided to read this book.   It all began when Leigh was dumped into the river by the mobster brothers, whom he stole from to appease the mafia he worked for. On the verge of drowning, he was kissed by an angel. Later he woke ashore without the shackles that the gangsters had tied around his ankle. Thinking nothing of it, Leigh went home, trying to come up with a plan to get himself out of the bind he ...

Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review

Book Source: Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Series Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ/5 Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review I was in the mood for an omegaverse when I stumbled on Ugly. My God was I not disappointed in my spontaneous decision. Ugly was that MM Romance I never knew I had to read. Like Burke, you could take care of me any day. Any day.  Emerson, a homeless omega, had found solitude in the bar of an older Alpha for the past three months. He never had a problem with the routine exchange of a few meals for a petty job here and there around the bar with the large alpha. Burke was caring and made him feel safe.  Burke could care less about the chores he asked the omega to do. It was a simple trade. Plus, Emerson never caused problems and often left after. Until one winter night. Three days before his heat cycle started, Emerson ended up in Burke's bar begging him to be allowed to stay until his cycle was over. The...

Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review

Book Source: Book Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: MM Standalone Series  Starred Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Spice Rating: ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ/5 Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review The electricity went out in my area and while bored I read book one, Bat Boy in this Easton U Pirates series, in one sitting. I'm a sucker for character arcs, so when I noticed Mason and Domonic in Bat Boy, I immediately shipped them. It thrilled me to know my intuitions were good and the duo was going to be a couple. So, I continued the trend and stayed up until the blink of dawn to read book two. Not a healthy idea since I had stuff to do in the day, but I wouldn't be a bookaholic if I never did an all-nighter for the sake of reading.  Back to the review.  Mason was the grumpy asshole while Domonic was the caring type. He wasn't overly adorable which fit his character and how the whole plot tied to Mason. I adored the banter between the two. Dominic knew how to handle Mason. H...
