Luke (Unexpected, #4) Review

Book Source: Kindle Store
Cross-post Review: None
Spice Radar: Didn't get that far to measure everything
In a series: Yes
Genre: MM Romance
Starred Rating: N/A

Once again, I continued with the books in line for the Unexpected series. Luke was the fourth. From what I have read, it had a few triggers like profanity, masturbation, stalking, transgender, Dom and Sub relationship. Okay, let's get started.

Luke (Unexpected, #4) Review

The Unexpected series had Luke as its fourth book. Cora Rose wrote Luke and a doctor called Elliot as the two protagonists of this MM Romance. Both men met under the most unexpected circumstance. On Luke’s way to get coffee with a busted face, he met Elliot. The transgender helped the muscular guy because doctors never passed the chance to help a sick person in need. It thrilled Luke and he pushed to get to know Elliot. The doctor was not so forthcoming, but of course it never stopped Luke. He forced himself in the doctor’s life. A wrecking ball of a man-child. And Elliot began to like the little things his so-called best friend did.

I liked Luke ever since he was introduced in Whit. I had such high expectations for his book that when I got the impression, he wouldn’t be the sem, I freaked out. Yeah, I was so invested in the series that I DNR this one. The thought of Luke playing a role I could not imagine just turned me off. I didn’t want to find out if he was the uke or not. Because yes, I am that type of person that would DNR a book to save myself the process of disliking the entire series.

I get it. Elliot was an alpha male. But I have seen where ukes were doms. It is a thing. So, that was what I pictured. I have no idea if Luke is the uke or not and I wish not find out. I might complete the book once I have grown unattached to the series. But not while I’m invested. I figured the plot would be just as great as the other books in the series. It started off well.

I would still recommend Luke to readers who like what they like. Don’t distance yourself from people or try to hide who you are because of the taste you have. Naw. If this person doesn’t like you for what makes you unique, then find someone else who will. You never can tell. There are people out there with the same interest as you.  Like a little. Find them. Some may find you. Don't close yourself off too quickly, you might miss your big moment.

Lex is book number five, and I am not sure I'll be reading it. If I do, you guys will be the first to know about it.

Coming Up for Air Review

Book Source: Kindle  Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Novel Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: 🌶/5 Coming Up for Air by Amanda Meuwissen Review  I stumbled on this story and noticed the merman on the book cover. I didn't even think much into it---not even to read the synopsis---why I took such a chance was beyond me---and got the book. My childhood obsession with merfolks--not Ariel, I hated her---followed me into adulthood. Therefore, anything merfolk and I'm going to read it. This book fell into that category. And, I was glad I decided to read this book.   It all began when Leigh was dumped into the river by the mobster brothers, whom he stole from to appease the mafia he worked for. On the verge of drowning, he was kissed by an angel. Later he woke ashore without the shackles that the gangsters had tied around his ankle. Thinking nothing of it, Leigh went home, trying to come up with a plan to get himself out of the bind he ...

Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review

Book Source: Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Series Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 Ugly (Winter Sun, #1) Review I was in the mood for an omegaverse when I stumbled on Ugly. My God was I not disappointed in my spontaneous decision. Ugly was that MM Romance I never knew I had to read. Like Burke, you could take care of me any day. Any day.  Emerson, a homeless omega, had found solitude in the bar of an older Alpha for the past three months. He never had a problem with the routine exchange of a few meals for a petty job here and there around the bar with the large alpha. Burke was caring and made him feel safe.  Burke could care less about the chores he asked the omega to do. It was a simple trade. Plus, Emerson never caused problems and often left after. Until one winter night. Three days before his heat cycle started, Emerson ended up in Burke's bar begging him to be allowed to stay until his cycle was over. The...

Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review

Book Source: Book Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: MM Standalone Series  Starred Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Spice Rating: 🌶🌶/5 Home Plate (Easton U Pirates, #2) Review The electricity went out in my area and while bored I read book one, Bat Boy in this Easton U Pirates series, in one sitting. I'm a sucker for character arcs, so when I noticed Mason and Domonic in Bat Boy, I immediately shipped them. It thrilled me to know my intuitions were good and the duo was going to be a couple. So, I continued the trend and stayed up until the blink of dawn to read book two. Not a healthy idea since I had stuff to do in the day, but I wouldn't be a bookaholic if I never did an all-nighter for the sake of reading.  Back to the review.  Mason was the grumpy asshole while Domonic was the caring type. He wasn't overly adorable which fit his character and how the whole plot tied to Mason. I adored the banter between the two. Dominic knew how to handle Mason. H...
