I enjoyed Whit so much that I decided to check out Sem. I did get a glimpse into the crazy plot from Whit, so I was more than exited to read Sem. It was just as good as Whit. Heck, it was even crazier. I loved it. It involves profanity, sex scenes, emotional abuse from family, some mentions of bullying, and homophobes. If that doesn't scare you away, then get your TBR and let us start the review.

Sem (Unexpected, #2) Review

Sem is the second book in the Unexpected series by Cora Rose. We got a sneak peak of Magnus and Sem's first meet in the first book, Whit. Sem decided to drive Magnus home from the hospital. Sem, a hulk of a man, noticed and got fascinated by little Magnus's fashion sense. So much so that he followed him around. Or that was the vibe I got from in Whit. In Sem, it gave more details of why Sem stooped to such measures. The bottom-line excuse was Magnus intrigued Sem. This fascination led to something more intense. The interaction between the two developed from banters to steamy bets. Once bet led to another until love swept them off their feet.

Sem and Magnus's relationship grew and blossomed, sending me over the edge. Like the first book, Cora never disappointed in showing us each emotional struggle. The character development came at the right stages to keep me invested until the end. Sometimes we think we want something but it's not what we need.
Like Whit and Caleb, Magnus and Sem was adorable. I was very much satisfied with this match up. For once the uke and sem were just as I imagined it. I even loved how this MM story could be read standalone. Magnus and Sem were to die for. I gobbled up the short story in a few hours. I rated Sem five stars out of five stars as well.
I recommend Sem by Cora Rose to all those insecure readers getting by. It's hard to fight for what you don't think you're worthy of, but hey, that's okay. We just have to pay attention to the people around us and accept ourselves for who we are. No matter what our flaws are, there is always something or someone out there for us.
Happy reading and let's get to Emery (Unexpected, #3).

Sucked Review

Book Source: Kindle Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Erotica Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ/5 Sucked by AR Taboo Review ‘She can’t keep it out of her mouth’.  I went into this one with an entire baggage of curiosity. I noticed a friend read and gave a review. Two sentences got me wanting to find out what it meant. There was nothing there for the book bio/synopsis which enhanced my urge to know what the hype was about. Knowing me, I got a little too curious, and rushed to read it. I gobbled up this thing without batting an eye. No one would think I was reading anything smut worthy much less as taboo as this. Like what the heck?  I’ve become so desensitized to these things that nothing affects me these days. No triggers. Not even this Novella. At this point, I could wave down the train to hell and buckle myself in. This was just…I’m lost for words.  Father reunited with daughter after years of not seeing each other. That was just ...

The Dark One (Vicious Lost Boys, #2) Review

Book Source: Kindle Store Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Spice Radar: ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ Type of Novel: Series  Genre: Dark Romance Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Book two of the Vicious Lost Boys series and I am here for it. The cliffhanger in book one got me intrigued. I jumped into book two to see what happened. Triggers includes Sex scenes, profanity, violence. I advise reading Nikki's content warning before jumping into this one.  The Dark One (Vicious Lost Boys, #2) After The Never King came The Dark One in the Vicious Lost Boys series. Nikki St. Crowe once again gave us what we needed in this Peter Pan retelling. I figured the title referred to Vane, the character. However, it was still centered around The Lost Boys of Neverland. A continuation of the last scene in the first book, The Never King.  I liked the way Nikki wrote the novel. It made it seem as if I was watching a bad ass show on tv. Sex included. The story got more in debt of the lives of the pe...

Coming Up for Air Review

Book Source: Kindle  Cross-Post Review:  Chantie's Goodreads Review Type: Standalone Novel Starred Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Smut Rating: ๐ŸŒถ/5 Coming Up for Air by Amanda Meuwissen Review  I stumbled on this story and noticed the merman on the book cover. I didn't even think much into it---not even to read the synopsis---why I took such a chance was beyond me---and got the book. My childhood obsession with merfolks--not Ariel, I hated her---followed me into adulthood. Therefore, anything merfolk and I'm going to read it. This book fell into that category. And, I was glad I decided to read this book.   It all began when Leigh was dumped into the river by the mobster brothers, whom he stole from to appease the mafia he worked for. On the verge of drowning, he was kissed by an angel. Later he woke ashore without the shackles that the gangsters had tied around his ankle. Thinking nothing of it, Leigh went home, trying to come up with a plan to get himself out of the bind he ...
